What car insurance policies are available through Carpeesh?

Carpeesh offers only comprehensive car insurance, with four types of cover available depending on your circumstances:

Comprehensive

Carpeesh’s Comprehensive policy provides coverage for both loss of or damage to your car and any damage caused to another person’s car or property through the use of your car. The following types of cover are available:

Young Driver

This cover is only for drivers aged 25 or below using the car for private use or for private and commuting use.

Worker

This cover is designed for cars used for social, domestic and pleasure purposes, as well as for performing a job or earning an income – but not ridesharing or food delivery or courier services. It is available to drivers of all ages.

Common questions about Carpeesh car insurance

How does the Carpeesh Driver Safety App work?

When you take out a policy with Carpeesh, you will need to download its Driver Safety App. This takes samples of your driving data so you can build up DrivePoints, and also allows you to access and update your policy details and report a claim at the scene.

The app is available for download on both Android and Apple mobile. You must download and link the app within 14 days of the policy start date to assess your rating; failure to do so may result in a Carpeesh driver safety app excess for claims.

What are DrivePoints?

DrivePoints is the rating system used by Carpeesh to assess the driving behaviour of insured individuals. It is based on specific driving skills and habits recorded in the Carpeesh driver safety app, with scores ranging from 0.1 (lowest) to 5.0 (highest).

How do I make a Carpeesh car insurance claim?

You can lodge a claim 24/7 using one of the following methods:

  • Carpeesh Driver Safety App
  • Via the website
  • By phone
What excesses may apply to my Carpeesh car insurance claim?

The following excesses may apply:

  • Standard excess: applies to all incidents involving loss or damage to your car
  • Optional variable excesses: choose a higher excess to reduce premiums
  • Age excess: Applies when the driver is under 26 years old and not a learner driver
  • Inexperienced driver excess: applies if the driver has held a licence for less than two years
  • Non-listed driver excess: applies when the car is driven by someone not listed on your policy, except for learner drivers or in specific circumstances
  • Off road excess: applies to loss or damage while driving on beaches, off public roads or on land not belonging to you.
  • Carpeesh Driver Safety App excess: applies if the app is not downloaded and linked within the 14-day grace period
Does Carpeesh have a no-claim discount?

No – instead of using no-claim discounts, Carpeesh rewards drivers for safe driving. Drivers with a higher DrivePoint score can get cheaper premiums when their policy is up for renewal.
