What are some of the pros and cons of buying car insurance through Enthusiast?

  • Tailored for classic or performance cars: if you’re a motoring enthusiast, this insurer may be able to offer the cover you’re looking for when it comes to your vintage or classic car or high-performance luxury vehicle.
  • Salvage rights for total losses: if your vehicle is declared a total loss in a claimable incident, Enthusiast enables the owners of eligible cars to receive salvage rights, which can be useful if you want to strip it for parts.
  • Choice of repairer: being able to choose your preferred licensed repairer (subject to Enthusiast’s terms and conditions) can bring greater peace of mind that your car is being handled by someone you can trust.
  • Designed more for collectors: although there’s little doubting the benefits for car collectors and enthusiasts, standard vehicle owners may not benefit as much from these policies.
  • Limited hire car cover: if your car needs to be repaired after theft, Enthusiast will only cover up to 14 days’ worth of costs, while rentals after any other claimable incident can only be covered with an added extra.
