This type of cover is the next step down from comprehensive car insurance, covering damage sustained due to theft and fire as well as damage to other vehicles and property, but not other damage to your vehicle. RACV’s Third Party Fire and Theft Car Insurance offers the following:
The most basic – and affordable – type of optional car insurance, RACV’s Third Party Property Damage Car Insurance is designed to cover damage caused to other people’s property, rather than to your own vehicle. The policy has the following inclusions:
Yes – if you have taken out Comprehensive Car Insurance with RACV, there are several optional extras available for an additional premium:
There are no optional extras available for RACV’s third-party car insurance policies.
If you are after more complete coverage, RACV’s Complete Care Car Insurance includes a range of extras that are provided as part of the plan.
No – RACV provides car insurance only for Victoria residents, so if you live elsewhere in Australia you will be unable to take out a policy. However, if you are a Victoria resident travelling to other parts of Australia, you will be covered by your RACV car insurance for interstate travel.
No – in Victoria, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is the sole provider of Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance.
Yes – RACV offers roadside assistance as a separate service you can subscribe to on top of your car insurance policy. RACV offers three levels of roadside assistance to ensure you get the cover that suits your needs.
You will automatically become an RACV Member when you buy any renewable RACV product. RACV Members can access a range of benefits and savings – including on RACV insurance products. The longer you are a member, the greater the discounts you will receive.
